Heather Broadwater

Partner and Senior Employment Attorney

A graduate of Georgetown University Law Center and experienced attorney, Heather Broadwater advises employers as a Senior Employment Attorney at Stanton Law. Heather helps employers operate their businesses in compliance with applicable employment laws. She also works with independent schools to help them pursue their missions in compliance with applicable law and consistent with the core values that define each school.

From representing employers in disputes to helping them adopt policies, procedures, and practices to minimize the likelihood of legal disputes, Heather draws upon her legal education and experience, as well as a career steeped in education, sociology, business, and human resource management.

“In HR, it’s more productive and efficient to spend resources to do things right than it is to face the costs of defending against claims that somebody got something wrong.”

Heather is admitted to the State bars of Georgia, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. She is the President-Elect for the Athens Area Society for Human Resource Management and a member of the Personnel Committee of the Athens Area Humane Society. For over a decade she has been a regular speaker at events for regional and national associations and at in-house training sessions for managers and employees. Since 2014, Heather and her spouse have provided a foster home to several special needs dogs, ranging from puppies only days old to senior dogs with health issues. She might be more likely to remember your dog’s name than yours.
