With a varied array of intricate civil litigation know-how, Samantha (Sam) Mandell’s expertise includes litigating commercial contract disputes, business torts, trademark infringement, and real estate matters. Her experience in state and federal courts runs the gamut from highly-staffed case teams to solo cases. In navigating complex litigation and developing creative strategies, Sam finds fulfillment in the mental gymnastics that arise while working toward achieving client goals.
Sam grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia and is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, where she studied American History. Thereafter, she pursued law and business degrees from Emory University’s School of Law and Goizueta Business School. Although Sam was absolutely certain that she wanted to be a corporate transactional attorney, she has since focused her practice exclusively on business and tort litigation and corporate risk management counseling.
In particular, Sam spent the first decade of her legal career in the Atlanta office of Jones Day, where she was a member of the firm’s Business and Tort Litigation group. For the next decade, she devoted herself to a small litigation boutique where she gained extensive hands-on knowledge, including first and second chairing several state and federal jury trials and significant appellate practice. She also dealt extensively with premises liability matters, acting as outside general counsel for a national hotel company.
Outside of work, Sam enjoys trying new restaurants, exploring Atlanta, spending quality time with family and friends, indulging in guilty pleasure TV, and traveling. She also took one of her bucket list experiences to new heights—literally—by skydiving.
