Marissa Hornsby

Partner

Marissa counsels clients through the full spectrum of employment law challenges, from defending against charges and demands, to advising on policies, contracts, and compliance. She brings a litigation-informed perspective to advising businesses on risk avoidance and dispute management, helping clients stay ahead of legal obstacles.

Prior to joining Stanton Law, Marissa worked in the litigation group of a nationally recognized law firm, and later at a boutique litigation firm representing employers and employees in employment and ERISA litigation. A New Jersey native, she holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Maryland and a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. Marissa’s varied experience outside of legal practice, including in banking compliance for the Treasury Department and best practices research in healthcare management, gives her practical insight into how legal issues arise and impact business operations.

Marissa particularly values partnering with clients to help them address business challenges that have legal implications. She’s drawn to Stanton Law’s willingness to think differently about legal practice and to help clients prioritize what matters most to them.

Outside of work, Marissa enjoys exploring trails and new destinations with her family, cheering on her two children, contending for the title of the world’s most unsuccessful dog trainer, and reading dystopian novels.
